Eight Almerle cookies packaged in a cellophane bag. Almerle cookies are made by the sisters in the monastery's Simply Divine bakery. Almerle cookies have the same unique texture of springerles--crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. But we use almond oil in place of anise oil, for a different but equally delicious taste. Like springerles, almerles bring a bit of our Old World heritage to your home. The cookie mold we use (with images of nature) is over 100 years old and was brought to the monastery by our sisters from Germany. Ingredients: Wheat flour, powdered sugar, eggs, butter, baking powder, honey, and almond oil.
